Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

BrainKH is a brain-training app made for children and their parents. We built it to collect the minimum information needed for the app to work, and nothing more. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices parents have. It applies to the BrainKH mobile app and the BrainKH service (API).

The short version

What we collect

When a parent creates a child profile, we store:

The parent dashboard PIN is stored only on your device (in the device's secure storage) โ€” it is never sent to our servers.

What we do NOT collect

AI features

Bo's daily tip and the weekly parent report are generated with an AI model (Anthropic Claude). Only gameplay statistics (for example: games played this week, accuracy per category, streak length) and the child's chosen nickname are used to generate this text. No other personal information is shared, the AI provider does not use this data to train its models, and the AI cannot contact or converse with the child โ€” it only produces short tips and summaries shown in the app.

Purchases

BrainKH offers an optional Premium subscription. All payments are handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play using the parent's store account. A parental gate (an arithmetic question) protects the purchase screen. We receive only an anonymous confirmation that a subscription is active โ€” never names, card numbers, or billing addresses. Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Where data lives and how long

Data is stored on secured servers (hosted on Railway, in a PostgreSQL database) and transmitted over HTTPS. We keep profile and gameplay data only while the profile exists. Deleting a child profile in the app (Parent Zone โ†’ profile โ†’ delete) permanently removes that child's data from our servers. You can also email us at saysotheara@gmail.com to request deletion or a copy of the data.

Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

BrainKH is designed for families with children. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's rules for children's data. We collect no more information than is reasonably necessary for a child to use the app, we do not condition participation on disclosing extra data, and parents may review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information at any time using the in-app controls or by contacting us.

Parents' rights

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date, and notify users in the app before the change takes effect.
